Comcast RISE: Grant Program Empowering Small Businesses in Northeast Florida through Financial Support and Resources

This week, the focus of “This Week in Jacksonville: Business Edition” is on Comcast RISE, a grant program for small businesses. Comcast RISE has announced $500,000 in grants for entrepreneurs in Northeast Florida. Michelle Oyola McGovern, Vice President of Government Affairs for Comcast Florida, explains that the program selects 100 grant recipients to receive monetary and support services to help their small businesses grow. This includes services like commercials and training.

The criteria for applicants to be considered for the Comcast RISE grant are clear: interested individuals must have been in business for at least three years, be independently owned, and have less than 100 employees. Jacksonville was selected as one of five cities for the program due to its large veteran population, with a focus on supporting veteran-owned businesses.

One of the previous winners of the Comcast RISE grant is Nichole Mobley, who runs T&N Xpress, a logistics and transportation company. She received a grant during the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped her create a video showcasing her business and attract new clients. Mobley shares her insights and experiences on the podcast along with Rich Rollins, Vice President of Comcast Business, and Michelle Oyola McGovern, Vice President of Government Affairs for Comcast Florida.

The Comcast RISE program is an opportunity for small businesses in Northeast Florida to receive financial support and resources to help them thrive and expand. Through grants and services like commercials and training, Comcast RISE is making a positive impact on the local business community.
