Exciting developments in Lubbock business scene: April brings new shops and features Dawna Gillespie

New Businesses and Articles Shine on A-J’s Business Beat

Greetings, A-J readers! This week has been packed with exciting updates and new developments in the business world. On Wednesday, two new businesses opened their doors to the public. Cyrus Kabob launched their family’s Persian recipes at their new restaurant on 421 Frankford Ave., while Hairbreak Hotel unveiled their Elvis Presley themed hair salon at 2614 130th St., Unit 3., along with their exclusive line of beard oil.

Lil Homiez Barbershop and Salon also joined the scene on Thursday at 5302 Ave. Q, Suite 17. In addition to these openings, two articles from the business beat were published this week. One featured Dawna Gillespie of Dawna Gillespie Adornments, detailing how a metalsmithing class at Texas Tech propelled her towards becoming an internationally recognized designer.

During my conversation with Gillespie, I was introduced to Ransom Canyon for the first time, and I must say that the stunning landscapes there left me in awe. It’s a hidden gem that deserves more attention, so I highly recommend taking a drive out there whenever you get the chance.

The second major story of the week was the monthly business roundup for April, showcasing 15 entries including nine openings, two closings, and four upcoming/denied announcements. Looking ahead to next week, no concrete plans have been finalized yet, so I may circle back on some rumored establishments. Thank you for your continued support and for reading the A-J.
