WellSpan Health – Medical Records

MyWellSpan: A Convenient Portal for Managing Health Information and Making Changes under HIPAA Regulations

The Health Insurance Portability and Security Act (HIPAA) grants individuals the right to access their medical records and make changes to them. One convenient way to do this is through the MyWellSpan portal, which allows users to manage their health information and care from a computer, tablet or smartphone at any time.

To access your medical record through MyWellSpan, simply log in to your account and navigate to the Sharing section. From there, you can request your medical records by providing the necessary information. If you are unable to use the online portal, you can also fill out a paper form called the Authorization to Use or Disclose Health Information, available in multiple languages.

If you need to make changes to your medical record, the MyWellSpan portal provides an easy way to submit a request. Simply access the Document Center, click on Requested Records & Record Amendments and complete the Request for Amendment Form. Alternatively, you can fill out the Patient Requested Amendment Form and mail it to WellSpan Health.

In specific situations such as requesting medical records for deceased loved ones or making other types of requests under 21st Century Cures Act, additional forms may be required. These forms should be completed accordingly for various purposes related to accessing, exchanging or using electronic health information.

Overall, MyWellSpan is a user-friendly portal that makes it easy for individuals to manage their health information and make changes as needed while being compliant with HIPAA regulations.
