Analyzing Ohio’s Chapel Hill Business Park: A Breakdown of Square Footage and More

From Struggles to Success: The Revitalization of the Chapel Hill Mall in Akron

The former Chapel Hill Mall in Akron has undergone a significant transformation and is now a thriving business park owned by Industrial Commercial Properties and Storage of America. The mall, located on 60 acres of land at 2000 Brittain Road, spans 715,000 square feet after the changes. Prior to the transformation, the mall was a massive 900,000 square feet, but with new ownership and renovations, it has become an ideal location for businesses looking to lease space.

Despite its recent transformation, Storage of America still owns a 169,000 square foot building at the former Macy’s location on 8 acres of land. This addition has further enhanced the appeal of the business park and opened up even more opportunities for businesses to establish themselves in the area. In fact, four new businesses have already taken advantage of these opportunities and set up shop in the complex since its closure in 2021.

One notable thing about this revitalization is that Storage of America had already purchased the former Macy’s building in 2019 prior to the mall’s closure. This shows their commitment to investing in this area and creating a thriving business community. Overall, it seems like things are looking promising for the future of this once-struggling mall as it continues to transform into a successful business park under new ownership.
