Brandenburg and Berlin police are currently investigating a significant drug bust that was discovered at Lidl stores. The customs investigation office reported the discovery of 223 kilograms of cocaine hidden in banana boxes across eleven Lidl branches. The estimated value of the cocaine is between 10 to 15 million euros, based on a gram price of 50 to 80 euros.

The Brandenburg police headquarters declined to disclose any figures when asked, only stating that cocaine in the “low three-digit kilogram range” was found, without specifying the exact amount or locations where the drugs were discovered. However, it is set to be destroyed on Friday.

A joint investigation group comprising of state criminal investigation offices from Brandenburg and Berlin, as well as the customs investigation office, is actively working on the case.
