Women in Sports Industry Gathered for a Historic Celebration at Vice President Kamala Harris’ Residence
Women in the sports industry gathered at Vice President Kamala Harris’ residence for a celebration hosted by the Women’s Sports Foundation. The event brought together influential figures such as league commissioners, team owners, athletic directors, and athletes to discuss the importance of providing equitable opportunities for women in sports.
During the celebration, Harris emphasized the need to empower women through sports and encouraged attendees to be trailblazers and pave the way for future generations. She highlighted the impact of the work being done by women in attendance and emphasized the importance of representation and breaking barriers.
Among those distinguished guests were Scout Bassett, a Paralympian and president of the Women’s Sports Foundation, Jessica Berman, commissioner of the National Women’s Soccer League, Nikki Fargas, president of the Las Vegas Aces, Darcie Kassewitz, owner of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Francie Gottsegen, president of North Carolina Courage and Renee Montgomery owner of Atlanta Dream.
