On Saturday, a local teen celebrated a special day as 17-year-old RJ Krishnaswamy received his master’s degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh. RJ had previously earned his bachelor’s degree from Pitt last year and expressed his excitement with KDKA-TV, saying he was thrilled to have something tangible to show for his hard work.

One of the challenges that RJ faced during his academic journey was defending a thesis, but he felt proud to have achieved this milestone. Daniel Mosse, a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Pittsburgh, commended RJ for choosing their institution for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Mosse expressed his pride in the work that RJ has done so far and especially highlighted the publication opportunities that may lay ahead for the young graduate.

Now equipped with his master’s degree, RJ is eagerly awaiting a response from Pitt regarding the beginning of his doctorate studies.
