Giants Draft Class: Filling Key Needs and Building for the Future.
The Giants, despite not selecting a quarterback in the draft, came away with a solid group of players. Malik Nabers fills a need at receiver, Tyler Nubin replaces Xavier McKinney, and Theo Johnson is a smart pick with Darren Waller’s uncertain playing future. While the Giants may not have made the splash they wanted, they should feel good about their draft class.
Malik Nabers is the Giants’ top pick and has a lot of potential in the NFL. He could be a game-breaking threat and addresses the lack of consistent wide receiver talent on the team. This move could also help other receivers on the roster find more suitable roles.
Andru Phillips, the team’s third-round pick, was not a bad selection despite being the least favorite pick. While there may have been other options available, Phillips was a solid choice for the Giants at that point in the draft.
Tyler Nubin replaces Xavier McKinney and adds depth to the defense. Andru Phillips provides depth to both offense and defense while Theo Johnson adds depth to tight end position with Darren Waller’s uncertain playing future. Tyrone Tracy Jr., Darius Muasau also provide depth to different positions on team showcasing Giants’ strategy for building a stronger roster for future seasons.
Overall, while not making any big splashy picks during this year’s draft, Giants were able to fill some key needs while adding depth and talent throughout their roster.
