Businesses cite high rent as the primary reason for leaving Reno Public Market

Reno Public Market Owner Shuts Down Fuego Street Tacos Amidst Rising Rent Costs.

Sarah Reynosa, the owner of Fuego Street Tacos, has revealed that the high rent at Reno Public Market was the driving force behind her decision to vacate the property. Despite raising concerns with RPM management and being told she was mismanaging her business, Reynosa insists that she did everything in her power to keep costs down, including reducing staff and seeking out the best prices for food. However, despite these efforts, she could not afford the rent.

In response to businesses leaving or shutting down, RPM management released a statement acknowledging that turnover in merchants is a normal part of the business cycle, especially in a place like the Food Hall where businesses may be testing new concepts. The statement also highlighted that customer preferences are constantly evolving, and RPM is committed to evaluating new experiences and offerings to meet these changing needs.

Reno Public Market opened its doors last year and has quickly become a destination for dining, shopping, and entertainment. The property management did not comment on individual businesses publicly out of respect for the merchants.
