Simone Biles Prioritizes Mental Health, Inspiring Family Life Counseling Event

Simone Biles, a 4-time Olympic gold medalist, made headlines when she decided to prioritize her mental health and safety by withdrawing from the team and all-around finals. This bold move highlighted the importance of mental health in the world of sports and beyond.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Family Life Counseling and Psychiatric Services is organizing a special event in Central Park gazebo on May 24. The event will feature live testimonials from individuals who have successfully navigated their mental health journeys, as well as provide free food, snacks, and drinks. There will also be a resource table staffed by Family Life employees, along with games like cornhole and music for attendees to enjoy.

The theme of the event is “Next Generation Mental Health ― Taking mental health services to where they are needed.” Family Life Counseling offers a range of services, including school-based services and general mental health counseling. It is important to continue to raise awareness about mental health and provide support for those in need.
