Josselyn’s Expansion: Providing Accessible Mental Health Services in Lake County and Beyond

Josselyn, a mental health provider in Lake County, has expanded its services to reach the entire county due to the growing need for accessible mental health services. Despite the pandemic subsiding, the demand for mental health services remains high. Susan Resko, the CEO and president of the community mental health center, revealed that the clinics currently serve 8,000 clients and receive over 1,000 calls every month.

The recent expansion of Josselyn has made it easier for individuals in areas like Waukegan, Grayslake, and Highland Park to receive treatment. Camilo Morales, the clinical coordinator, expressed pride in the center’s ability to reach more people than before. Josselyn now has a Spanish language option on its website and bilingual therapists like Morales to assist Spanish-speaking clients effectively.

Robert Robbins, a former client of Josselyn, shared his story of finding the center online after struggling with homelessness and substance abuse for many years. Robbins credited Josselyn for his 11 years of sobriety and his pursuit of becoming a certified recovery support specialist. Chloe Brodner, the assistant director of clinic services, highlighted that Josselyn has over 100 therapists on staff offering various forms of therapy, including an expressive arts program incorporating art, dance, and music to meet clients’ diverse needs.
