Georgia softball dominates Kennesaw State with 10-1 victory, setting SEC Series match against No. 20 Arkansas

Georgia softball had a commanding 10-1 victory over Kennesaw State, with nine runs scored in the first two innings. The Bulldogs nearly doubled their previous game’s totals of four runs and five hits, with 11 hits and 10 runs in this matchup.

Madison Kearney started the scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning, and she was not alone. Sydney Chambley and Sara Mosley also hit home runs in the game. Despite a fielder error that allowed Kennesaw State to score in the first inning, Georgia’s pitching staff performed admirably. Starter Shelby Walters earned the win after pitching for two innings, allowing three hits and striking out two batters. The Bulldogs used four pitchers in total, who only allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five batters.

Georgia showed off its depth roster, with 15 different players seeing playing time compared to only eight players for Kennesaw State. After a successful away stretch, Georgia will return home to face No. 20 Arkansas in their upcoming SEC series on Saturday, March 30th at noon.
