Salmonella is a common cause of diarrhea worldwide and can lead to serious complications if not treated promptly. The bacteria enter the body through contaminated food and water, producing toxins that damage the intestines and cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. In severe cases, Salmonella can lead to dehydration, low blood pressure, multi-organ failure, and even death. The bacteria can also enter the bloodstream, causing life-threatening sepsis.

It is important for individuals to practice proper food handling techniques to prevent Salmonella infection. This includes cleaning meat and poultry properly before cooking or consuming them raw or undercooked eggs. Additionally, consuming raw or undercooked vegetables may also result in Salmonella infection. On the other hand, E.coli bacteria found in three critically ill children in Dong Nai is commonly found in fresh food products like beef, milk, fruits but does not typically cause as severe symptoms as Salmonella.

In recent news over 560 people have been poisoned after consuming Bang bread from a local store in Long Khanh City. While most patients have been discharged from the hospital; several severe cases remain including a 6-year-old boy on life support at Children’s Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City due to Salmonella infection caused by eating Bang bread from this particular store
