Cape Day: Celebrating Courage and Bravery at Children’s Health Hospital

As part of National Superhero Day, Children’s Health in Dallas celebrated its annual “Cape Day.” The event aimed to recognize the strength and bravery of each child and family treated at the hospital. Patients were encouraged to celebrate their own superpowers and each received a cape to wear for the day.

Miguel Solis’s 5-year-old daughter Olivia, who received a heart transplant at just three months old, used her superpower of courage every day. Her story is laced with courage, as she spent the day with superheroes like Batman and Ironman, participating in activities such as cookie decorating and painting. She enjoyed spending time with her friend Amelia, who also received treatment at Children’s Health. Olivia said, “Amelia and I are Superheroes because of our powers!”
