CBS Sports’ Recent Mock Draft Predicts Buccaneers Will Select Elite Cornerback Prospect in First Round Late

Buccaneers Prepare for 2024 NFL Draft, Eying Defensive Boost with Elite Cornerback Terion Arnold

The 2024 NFL Draft is just a week away and teams are finalizing their preparations for the big event. The draft kicks off in Detroit, Michigan with the first round scheduled for Thursday night. The Buccaneers, who made it to the playoffs last year, will be making their pick in the latter third of the first round.

The team is considering several options for their 26th overall pick, including selecting a premier player along the offensive line, a pass rusher or help solidify their defensive backs. With Carlton Davis III traded away and new players like Zyon McCollum and Tavierre Thomas added to the roster, the Bucs are still in need of bolstering their defensive backfield.

According to a recent first-round mock draft by CBS Sports’ Will Brinson, one player that fits this need perfectly is elite cornerback Terion Arnold from the University of Alabama. Arnold, who hails from Tallahassee, Florida, had an impressive college career earning honors like FWAA Freshman All-American and Freshman All-SEC in his early years at Tuscaloosa.

In his redshirt sophomore season, Arnold continued to excel and was recognized as a first-team Associated Press All-American and an All-SEC first-team member. With his exceptional talent and potential to make an immediate impact on the field, he would be a valuable addition to the Buccaneers’ defense.
