Karlsruhe, Germany: Host of The World Games 2029 for the Second Time in Its History
Karlsruhe, Germany has been confirmed as the host of the 13th edition of The World Games in 2029. This makes it the first city to organize the event twice, having previously hosted it in 1989. The city has also hosted other major international sporting events.
Karlsruhe was nominated by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) to host the IWGA flagship event, which will take place in the summer of 2029. Located in south-western Germany, near the French border and at the heart of Europe, Karlsruhe is committed to promoting international sporting events.
Germany’s strong commitment to The World Games was emphasized by IWGA President José Perurena, who expressed gratitude for the excellent conditions provided for athletes in past events in Karlsruhe and Duisburg. This upcoming event will see around 3,000 world-class athletes from over 100 countries and regions competing in about 35 sports.
