Hialeah Burglar Smashes Gaming Machines and Fleees with Cash: Police Arrest Otniel Rodriguez

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Hialeah after being caught on camera smashing gaming machines at a café and fleeing with cash. Otniel Rodriguez faces charges of burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief in connection with this incident.

Rodriguez entered the Rainbow Café wearing a disguise and proceeded to smash gaming machines with an axe. Despite attempts by another individual to stop him, Rodriguez continued to cause damage. Officials said that Rodriguez destroyed three gaming machines and stole $7,000 in cash during the incident.

This is not the first time Rodriguez has been involved in crimes related to gaming machines. He was also accused of a similar offense at a Hialeah gas station on February 29th. The owners of the Rainbow Café expressed appreciation for the swift response and arrest made by the Hialeah police department. Rodriguez appeared before a Miami-Dade bond court judge on Wednesday, where he remained in custody. No information on his attorney was available at the time.

The arrest of Rodriguez is a reminder of the importance of law enforcement in maintaining public safety and protecting businesses in the community. It is important for businesses to be vigilant when it comes to security and monitoring of premises to prevent such incidents from occurring.
