As of May 6, 40 border posts have been installed on the Armenia-Azerbaijani border as part of coordinate adjustment works. The Armenian government’s press release states that expert groups from both countries are continuing their work, although the exact amount of territory that has been demarcated has not been officially confirmed. The border demarcation commissions of the two countries began the process of determining coordinates based on geodetic measurements on the ground on April 23.

As per the agreements made by the commissions, some parts of the Tavush-Kazakh border will be aligned with the existing inter-republican border that was in place at the time of the Soviet Union’s collapse. On the Armenian side, territories will retreat in the direction of Baghanis-Ayr, Ashagh and Askipara, Kheiriml and Ghezilhajili villages. This process does not currently involve Armenian territories in front of Berkaber, which are under Azerbaijani control, or sections of interstate roads next to Voskepar that remain under Armenian control.
