USDA Releases Public Health Alert for Contaminated Ground Beef

Beware of Est. 960A: Recall of Contaminated Ground Beef Products Could Have Serious Consequences

The USDA advises individuals to avoid consuming any products that bear the establishment number “EST. 960A” or have the packaging date of “032824.” Additionally, FSIS is urging caution for consumers who may have purchased these products and should check their freezers or food service establishments to ensure they do not have any contaminated beef products.

In response to the incident, Greater Omaha Packing Co. LLC has recalled all ground beef products produced on March 28, 2024, with a “Use/Freeze by” date of April 22, 2024. The company is working closely with FSIS to ensure all affected products are removed from commerce and destroyed safely.

Overall, the USDA is taking this incident seriously and wants to ensure the safety of consumers by warning them about contaminated beef products and encouraging them to take action if they believe they have been exposed to such products.
