London’s National Theatre to Debut Stage Adaptation of Ballet Shoes

A Timeless Tale: Ballet Shoes Returns to the London National Theatre for its World Premiere!

This fall, the world premiere of a stage adaptation of Noel Streatfeild’s beloved book Ballet Shoes will take place at London’s National Theatre. The show promises to be a festive and family-friendly experience, directed by Katy Rudd who previously helmed The Ocean at the End of the Lane at the National.

Ballet Shoes follows three sisters – Pauline, Petrova, and Posy – who grow up in a crumbling house filled with dinosaur bones and fossils under the watchful eye of their guardians Sylvia, Nana, and some unexpected lodgers. As they navigate life’s challenges, the sisters embark on a journey to discover their true identities and pursue their passions.

The upcoming production boasts an impressive creative team, including set design by Frankie Bradshaw, costume design by Samuel Wyer, choreography by Ellen Kane, composition by Asaf Zohar, lighting design by Paule Constable, sound design by Ian Dickinson, and casting by Bryony Jarvis-Taylor. National Theatre Director Rufus Norris is thrilled to present this classic tale in a new and ambitious theatrical production that audiences won’t want to miss.

Tickets for Ballet Shoes will be available to the general public starting on May 2. For more information about the show and to purchase tickets online visit NationalTheatre.org.uk
