Washington accuses Russia of employing chemical weapons in the conflict with Ukraine

Breaking News: United States Accuses Russia of Chemical Weapons Use in Conflict Against Ukraine, Imposes Sanctions on Violators

The United States has accused Russia of using chemical weapons in its conflict against Ukraine, as stated in a recent announcement from the State Department. The statement also revealed that more than 200 individuals and 80 companies and individuals have been placed on a list of sanctions by the Ministry of Finance due to Russia’s alleged violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

According to reports, the State Department has concluded that Russia used the substance chloropicrin against Ukrainian military forces. Chloropicrin is listed as a prohibited substance by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and can cause irritation and suffocation at high concentrations, though it is not a neuroparalytic poison. It was previously used during World War I.

There has been no response from Moscow regarding this accusation. Earlier, Ukraine had reported that Russian troops had used chemical substances on the battlefield, although no casualties were reported as a result. This allegation remains a contentious issue in ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
