The Mays Business School at Texas A&M Receives Record-Breaking $25 Million Donation from the Mays Family Foundation

The Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in College Station received a record-breaking $25 million donation on Friday from the Mays Family Foundation. This generous contribution is the largest single donation in the school’s history and will help fund a new building that will support expanded graduate programs, accommodate increasing enrollment, and enhance existing programs.

The goal of this project is to propel the school to the top of national rankings and position it as a leader in business education. During the announcement, Mays Dean Nate Sharp emphasized the importance of having the best students, staff, faculty, and alumni to achieve this goal. The support of the Mays Family Foundation and Lowry Mays will be crucial in shaping the future of the business school.

Lowry Mays’ daughter, Kathy Mays Johnson, and her daughter were present at the event to present the donation. Their commitment to Texas A&M and the Mays Business School was met with multiple standing ovations, highlighting the impact of their family’s contributions.

Texas A&M System Chancellor John Sharp and Texas A&M Foundation President Tyson Voelkel also attended the event, praising Lowry Mays’ philanthropy and vision for the future of the business school. Together with this latest donation, the Mays family has now contributed a total of $72 million to Texas A&M, solidifying their legacy as key supporters of higher education.
