Sioux Falls Visitor Industry Awards: Celebrating Outstanding Contributions to Tourism

Six individuals and businesses were recognized at the annual visitor industry awards ceremony held in Sioux Falls on May 6, 2024. The winners were selected for their outstanding contributions to the visitor industry in the city.

The Heart of the City Award was presented to Police Chief Jon Thum, who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, inspiration, and a strong spirit in his efforts to support the visitor industry. This award acknowledges individuals who have made a significant impact on the community through their dedication and commitment.

The Washington Pavilion received the Business Award for demonstrating innovation, excellence, and a positive influence on the visitor industry. The organization plays a crucial role in making Sioux Falls a premier destination for visitors from near and far.

Four employees were recognized with First Impressions Awards for consistently delivering exceptional customer service and making a positive impact on visitors. Lynnette Ingalls from 22Ten Kitchen Cocktails, Trisha Lux from Glo Best Western Dawley Farm Village, Kelly Woldt from Simply Perfect, and Allison Weiland, the executive director at The Sioux Falls State Theatre Co., were among those honored.

The awards ceremony took place at the annual Visitor Industry Luncheon, where keynote speaker Becky Hammon shared her insights and experiences with the audience. It was an opportunity to celebrate and recognize those who make Sioux Falls a vibrant and welcoming visitor destination.
