Revamped Callaway Stadium: Brighter and Better with New LED Lighting System

The Troup County Board of Commissioners recently unveiled the completion of a lighting upgrade project at Callaway Stadium. The new LED stadium and field lighting system will provide a brighter and more evenly distributed light on the playing surface, making it safer for athletes to play and enhancing the experience for spectators.

Funded by SPLOST 6, the project involved removing the original lighting system and installing new foundations, poles, bracket mounting arms, LED lights, light racks, and new electrical and control systems. This is the first lighting upgrade since 1958, making it a major improvement for the community.

The new LED lights are brighter and more efficient than the old ones, providing better visibility on the field and around the stadium with only 4 poles instead of 8. Additionally, they are expected to help reduce electricity costs during events at the stadium.
