Real Madrid Brings Football Education to Namibian Children with Inaugural Clinics
Namibia recently hosted a delegation from Real Madrid City, led by Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations. The purpose of their visit was to present the educational football clinics program that will be held in Namibia this year.
The clinics are scheduled to take place in Keetmanshoop and Gobabis from May 13 to 24, and in Opuwo and Eenhana from October 7 to 18. This program is now in its second year and is expected to involve over 1,000 children. Funding for the clinics will be provided by Cadilu Fishing, with support from the Ministries of Sport and Education, as well as the Spanish Embassy in Namibia.
Two coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation will travel to Namibia to work with the young participants, providing them with a unique football experience and teaching valuable values through the Foundation’s educational methodology. The ongoing support from the Ministry of Sports and the Spanish Embassy has helped establish the clinics as a recurring program. Further plans include the opening of an Educational Football Programme in September, supported by Cadilu Fishing, to continue promoting sport and education in the country. The proceeds from these activities will benefit the socio-sports projects that the Real Madrid Foundation operates in the region for children at risk of exclusion.
