Rolling Stones at Jazz Fest Draws Record Crowd, Stimulates Local Economy

New Orleans Jazz Fest Wraps Up: Over $400 Million in Economic Impact and Rolling Stones Return Next Year”.

New Orleans is currently bustling with activity as the Jazz Fest grounds are being dismantled following what may have been the largest festival in its history. The event, which took place over eight days, featured headliners such as the Rolling Stones and experienced minimal rain, resulting in 97% of the city’s hotel rooms being occupied and close to half a million attendees.

Renowned Jazz Fest poster artist, Terrance Osborne, was among those who enjoyed the pleasant weather during the festival. He shared that this year was one of his best for selling his signature art at the event, with some clouds providing relief from the scorching heat.

Vendors are now dismantling their temporary but profitable stands on the Fair Grounds infield. Despite challenges getting outbound flights, many visitors chose to extend their stay in New Orleans and contribute to the local economy by shopping in the French Quarter and supporting local businesses.

The economic impact of Jazz Fest is estimated to be around $400 million, making it a significant contributor to tourism in New Orleans. Osborne expressed that while he would prefer to attend without having to work at his art booth, he plans to participate again next year alongside loyal customers who promise to return even if the Rolling Stones are not part of the lineup.
