Exciting news: Students to start painting mural for upcoming Da Vinci Science Center in Allentown!

New Da Vinci Science Center Mural Created by Local Students and Artist

The new Da Vinci Science Center in downtown Allentown is set to be a vibrant and colorful addition to the city thanks to the talents of an artist from Bethlehem, along with hundreds of students. Starting Thursday morning, around 300 students will gather at the Judith Chase Early Learning Center on Chew Street to begin painting a mural that will be installed on the wall of the new science center.

Local artist and Bethlehem Area School District art teacher Carla Majczan was chosen to work with the students to create, design, and paint the mural. She had students at the Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers create art and designs based on her lesson plans for art and science. Those students produced boxes full of art and ideas, which Carla then sorted through to create the final mural design. The mural is directly based on the children’s drawings and designs.

The kids are excited to see their hard work come to life as they paint the 120-foot long mural. The mural will be installed at the new science center in late May or early June, just in time for its grand opening on May 22. Visitors to the science center will be able to marvel at the colorful and creative artwork created by these talented young artists.
