The Kansas Science Festival provides fun and educational STEAM activities for kids

Kansas Science Festival: Celebrating STEAM and Promoting Lifelong Learning in the Community

The 3rd annual Kansas Science Festival took place today in downtown Manhattan, showcasing the latest developments in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math). With over 150 presenters in 50 booths, there was no shortage of activities to keep both children and adults engaged.

Practitioners from across the state, including K-State and NBAF, were on hand to demonstrate their expertise. From paper microscopes to exploring Kansas’s native fish and biophysics, attendees had plenty of opportunities to learn about the latest advances in science and technology.

Phillip Shults, the program coordinator for the festival, emphasized the importance of lifelong learning. He thanked the community for their support in making the event possible and noted that everyone could take something away from it regardless of their age.

Due to inclement weather conditions, some activities were relocated to the library to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all attendees. However, this did not detract from the overall success of the festival.

Overall, the collaborative effort of STEAM practitioners, volunteers, and community members made this year’s Kansas Science Festival a resounding success. Their commitment to promoting science education and exploration left a lasting impact on all who participated.
