Elementary Schools Get Ready for Science Olympiad

Elementary Science Olympiad: 26th Annual Edition Promises Exciting Challenges and Engaging Learning

On Saturday, April 27, the 26th Annual Elementary Science Olympiad will take place at Walnut School in Turlock. The event is being sponsored by the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) and the Education Foundation of Stanislaus County. Approximately 300 elementary school children from across the county will be participating in this exciting event.

The teams from Cloverland, Fair Oaks, Magnolia, and Sierra View have been busy preparing for the competition. These schools are among several elementary schools scheduled to participate in the Science Olympiad, including Agnes Baptist, Fremont Open Plan, Great Valley Academy, Hickman Charter, Hughes, Julien, Keyes, Magnolia, Our Lady of Fatima, Sierra View and Walnut.

This year’s Science Olympiad promises to be a fun and educational day for all involved. The event will feature a variety of exciting challenges such as Bridge Building, Can Race, Catapult , Circuit Wizardry , Crime Busters , Deep Blue Sea , Knock Knock Who’s There , Leaf & Tree , Mystery Architecture , No Bones About It , Paddle Boat , Picture This , Rock Hound , Simple Machines , Straw Egg Drop and Treasure Hunt . Additionally there will also be Write It/Do It challenge which is sure to keep everyone engaged throughout the day.

The awards ceremony will take place at 3:15 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheater at Walnut School where students from all four Oakdale Elementary schools are gearing up to participate in the competition.
