Closure of Road for Crane Work at the Center for Brain Health

Construction Causes Temporary Closure of Charles Katz Drive on May 11

On May 1, 2024 at 2:09 pm, Orith Farago posted an announcement regarding a temporary road closure on Charles Katz Drive. The closure is due to crane work that will be taking place to lift air conditioning units onto the top of the Center for Brain Health. The affected section of the road will be from the intersection of Floyd Curl to the driveway of Garage G. This closure is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. If the work is not completed by 5 p.m. on May 11, the closure will be extended to 5 p.m. on May 12.

During the road closure, Garage G and the employee sections of the Medical Arts and Research Center (MARC) and Center for Oral Health Care and Research (COHCR) garages will still be accessible. Access to these areas will be through the Ewing Halsell Drive side of Charles Katz Drive. Charles Katz Drive itself can be accessed from the roundabout at Ewing Halsell Drive and Sid Katz Drive. The entrances to the patient garages for the MARC and COHCR from Floyd Curl will remain accessible.

For more information about the road closure or parking arrangements, individuals are encouraged to reach out to the parking office via email at parking@uthscsa
