Shedeur Sanders draft rumors: Colorado QB would have been QB1 in 2024 over Caleb Williams, says NFL evaluator

Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders: Follows in Father’s Footsteps with NFL Draft Prospects

The 2025 NFL Draft is just around the corner, and attention has already shifted from the 2024 class to the next generation of talented prospects. One player who stands out in early mock drafts is Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL star and Colorado head coach Deion Sanders.

Sanders was a standout for his father at Jackson State before joining the Buffaloes in 2023. While his team struggled towards the end of the season, losing seven of their final eight games, Sanders led a high-powered offense that averaged an impressive 30.8 points per game. Despite not entering the 2024 draft, he was highly regarded by NFL evaluators and considered a first-round pick had he decided to go through the process.

Now with his father as his head coach at Colorado, Sanders continues to impress with his skills on the field. He has demonstrated his passing ability and good touchdown to interception ratio in both his time at Jackson State and Colorado. Along with other top prospects like Travis Hunter, Sanders has joined his father at one of the Power 5 schools where he continues to hone his skills.

While some evaluators mention that managing Sanders differently is necessary due to his father’s involvement, most agree that he has shown exceptional talent and winning mentality on the field. With another year under his belt at Colorado, Sanders could become one of the top picks in the upcoming class of 2025.
