Chiefs opt not to play Taylor Swift tunes at Arrowhead to honor Travis Kelce

Chiefs’ Decision to Stop Playing Taylor Swift’s Music During Home Games: A Look Behind the Scenes

Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s relationship has been the talk of the town during the 2023 NFL season. However, fans may have noticed a lack of Swift’s music playing in Arrowhead Stadium. The reason behind this was a deliberate decision by the team to give Kelce a break from the media frenzy surrounding their relationship.

During the World Congress of Sports, Chiefs president Mark Donovan revealed that it was due to intense media coverage of their relationship that they made the decision not to play any of Swift’s music during home games. Donovan stated that they wanted to respect Kelce’s relationship and avoid any intentional distractions. Despite being in the public eye, Kelce’s performance on the field was not affected during both regular season and playoff run, where he recorded 93 receptions for 984 yards and five touchdowns, and caught 32 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns respectively.
