Leipzig: Tram drivers under investigation following the tragic death of 3 boys

Celebrating Life: Family Invites Community to Remember Henri during Funeral on Easter Sunday

On Sunday, a tragic accident claimed the life of little Henri, a 3-year-old boy from the USA while he was in Leipzig. The incident occurred when Henri stumbled while getting off the tram and fell under the approaching train. Despite the devastating loss of their beloved son, Henri’s family has decided to celebrate his life during his funeral service in Massachusetts, his hometown.

The family has invited everyone who knew Henri to attend the service, asking guests to wear “white angels” or cheerful colors instead of traditional black attire. This decision reflects their determination to remember their son’s joyful spirit and love for dinosaurs through happy memories and smiles.

Henri’s parents, Kacie and Christian, have expressed their gratitude to the German community for their assistance during this difficult time. The family plans to broadcast the funeral service and will include a eulogy in German to express their appreciation for the outpouring of support they have received. They want to honor their son’s memory by encouraging attendees to remember him with love and warmth.

The tragedy has left many people saddened by the loss of such a young life. However, it is important for us to celebrate Henri’s life and cherish the memories we had with him rather than dwell on his unfortunate passing.

The investigation into the tram driver responsible for the accident continues, but at this time no charges have been filed.

We extend our deepest condolences to Henri’s family as they grieve this difficult loss. May they find peace and comfort as they celebrate their son’s life during this Easter Sunday.
