Breaking the Stigma: Tuan Anh’s Struggle with Work and Family Pressures and the Importance of Mental Health Support for Men

A 36-year-old man named Tuan Anh from Hoan Kiem district shared his struggles with work and family pressures on social media at midnight. He is a middle manager for a service company who works long hours from 5 am to midnight, under intense stress for years to pay off his parents’ debt, buy a house, car, and send his children to private school.

However, recent financial difficulties led Tuan Anh to borrow money from friends and caused arguments with his wife about finances. His wife criticized him for showing weakness and not being able to solve his problems on his own. Feeling isolated and judged, Tuan Anh turned to social media to share his emotions but received negative feedback from friends telling him to be strong.

After seeking help at Mai Huong Psychiatric Hospital, Tuan Anh was diagnosed with mild anxiety-depressive disorder by Dr. Tran Thi Hong Thu, the Deputy Director.
