Assets under Management by International Fund Managers in Spain Surge to 276 Billion Euros
International fund managers in Spain have witnessed a significant increase in the assets they manage for their clients, reaching 276 billion euros as of last March. This represents an increase of 11,000 million euros at the start of 2024, according to estimates by the sector’s employers’ association, Inverco. Two main reasons contribute to the increase in assets under management: the profitability of portfolios due to market rises and increased inflows of money compared to outflows in the last three months.
Investors who choose foreign management firms in Spain are increasingly opting for ETFs or passive management, which replicate an index. Around 35.4% of all assets were invested in ETFs at the end of March, totaling nearly 76,000 million euros. Equities and fixed income investments also remain popular among investors. Among the top fund managers in Spain, BlackRock holds the top position with total assets of 46,955 million euros, followed by Amundi and JP Morgan.
Other foreign management firms like DWS, Fidelity International, Morgan Stanley, and Pictet also hold significant amounts of assets under management in Spain.
