Posti Group sees improved profitability despite early year turnover dip

Posti Group Beats Expectations with 21.2 Million Euro Adjusted Operating Profit Amid Decline in Turnover

The Posti Group, a Finnish postal service company, experienced a decline in turnover during January-March. According to the group, the decrease was caused by a drop in demand and political strikes that occurred at the beginning of the year. Despite this setback, the adjusted operating profit increased to 21.2 million euros from 9.6 million euros the previous year.

Despite market uncertainty affecting net sales in the first quarter, Acting managing director Timo Karppinen attributes improved profitability to cost control measures. He stated that efficiency will remain a top priority moving forward as Posti Group continues to lead operations until new CEO Antti Jääskeläinen assumes his role after the summer holidays. Jääskeläinen, formerly a business area manager at UPM, will replace Karppinen as head of Posti Group. The company is owned by the Finnish state.
