Bond for Zoo Boosts Local Economy

Backing the Oregon Zoo: A Win-Win for the Local Economy and Community Pride

In May, the community will have the chance to support their local economy by voting in favor of the Oregon Zoo bond. The Oregon Zoo is more than just a fun and educational place for kids, families, and seniors; it also plays a vital role in driving economic activity throughout the region.

The zoo attracts over 1.3 million visitors annually, many of whom come from outside the area. These visitors contribute to the local economy by staying in hotels, shopping at local businesses, and dining at restaurants. The impact of the zoo extends beyond its own operations, creating a positive ripple effect that benefits the entire community.

Measure 26-244 is on the ballot, providing funding for much-needed infrastructure upgrades at the Oregon Zoo. These improvements will enable the zoo to continue to be a major economic driver for the region without increasing current tax rates. Supporting the Oregon Zoo bond is an excellent investment in our local economy.

As a board member of the Oregon Zoo Foundation, I urge you to vote yes on Measure 26-244 to ensure that our beloved cultural hub continues to thrive as an economic driver in our community. By supporting this measure, we can help secure a brighter future for our city and its residents while enjoying all that the Oregon Zoo has to offer.
