Kim Caldwell names Nolan Harvath as the new director of sports performance for Lady Vols

New Director of Sports Performance for Lady Vols Basketball Brings Experience and Passion to the Team

The Lady Vols basketball program has recently welcomed a new director of sports performance, Nolan Harvath. Harvath previously worked with the West Virginia strength and conditioning staff since December 2020 and was officially named the new director of sports performance for Lady Vols basketball.

Lady Vols basketball coach Kim Caldwell expressed her excitement about Harvath’s hiring, stating that he understands the team’s goals and is dedicated to helping them become the hardest working team in the country. She is confident that Harvath will push the team to improve every day.

Harvath replaces Bryan Tatum, who was not kept on from the previous staff. He most recently worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the WVU football team, starting in the spring of 2022. Before his time at West Virginia, Harvath served as the director of strength and conditioning at Glenville State from 2018-2020, where he also held the title of assistant athletic director from 2019-2020.

Harvath is a native of Fairmont, West Virginia, and graduated with a degree in exercise science from Southern Indiana University in 2013. He later earned a master’s degree in athletic coaching education from WVU in 2016. Harvath began his career as a strength and conditioning coach at the high school level, working at both East Fairmont High and Morgantown High from 2013-2017. He also gained experience working with Pro Performance in Morgantown before joining WVU as a strength and conditioning intern before joining their football team staff.
