Alliance Theatre Unveils 2024-2025 Season Lineup with World Premieres of Adam Guettel’s “Millions” and Milo Cramer’s “Business Ideas

The Alliance Theatre in Atlanta is set to have the world premiere of Adam Guettel’s musical “Millions” as part of its 2024-2025 season. Based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, the story follows two brothers who find a duffel bag of cash while grappling with the loss of their mother. The production will feature music and lyrics by Guettel, a book by Bob Martin, and direction by Bartlett Sher, who previously worked with Guettel on “The Light in the Piazza.” Performances will run from May 10 to June 15, 2025.

The Alliance Theatre’s upcoming season includes several world premieres, including Milo Cramer’s “Business Ideas,” directed by Matt Torney and running from November 16 to December 15, 2024. Zora Howard’s “Bust,” a co-production with Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, will be directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz and perform from February 13 to March 16, 2025. Jake Brasch’s “The Reservoir,” a co-production with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Geffen Playhouse, will be directed by Shelley Butler and run from March 29 to May 4, 2025.

In addition to these new productions, the season will feature new stagings of Katori Hall’s “The Mountaintop,” directed by Tinashe Kajese-Bolden from August 30 to September 22, and Lloyd Suh’s “The Chinese Lady,” running from September 18 to October 13.
