Windows 11 version 24H2 to no longer include Microsoft WordPad

Microsoft Bids Farewell to WordPad: What You Need to Know

Microsoft has made the decision to remove its WordPad text tool from the next version of its Windows 11 operating system, as well as from the Windows Server 2025 server platform. This move comes after Microsoft advised users to use Memo Pad for plain text documents and Microsoft Word for rich text documents (.doc and .rtf) when announcing the end of WordPad in September.

WordPad is a basic word processor that has been included in many versions of Microsoft Windows since 1995. However, with the upcoming release of Windows 11, version 24H2, and Windows Server 2025, users will no longer have access to this tool.

It’s worth noting that this decision contradicts previous suggestions made by companies like Qualcomm regarding the next version of Windows. Nonetheless, it’s clear that Microsoft is making changes to its operating system in order to improve user experience and functionality.
