Henry County investing $24 million in Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre for Expansion and Development

Major $24 Million Project Set to Boost Economy in Henry County, Virginia with Grade of Unique 150-Acre Business Hub Lot

In a major development for the economy of Henry County, Virginia, a $24 million project is set to begin at the Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre. This project, which will grade a 150-acre lot at the centre, is being funded by a $22 million state grant and a matching $6 million grant from the Harvest Foundation.

Brandon Martin, the county’s public information officer, stated that economic development is a key focus for the board of supervisors and that this project is an important step forward for the community. The lot at the Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre is unique in Virginia as it is the only one of its size with access to rail and full utilities.

The project is expected to take several years to complete, but there is potential to expedite the timeline if a company shows interest in the lot before then. This investment has the potential to have a positive impact on the local economy and create new opportunities for businesses in Henry County.

County leaders are excited about this development and are confident that it will bring economic growth to the area. The Commonwealth Crossing Business Centre has already attracted several companies and this project will further enhance its appeal as a business hub.
