Corey Seager of the Rangers exits game due to shin contusion

Injury Knocks Out Texas Shortstop Corey Seager in Game against Seattle Mariners

On Wednesday, Texas shortstop Corey Seager was forced to exit the game against the Seattle Mariners due to a left shin contusion. The incident occurred in the seventh inning when he was hit by a pitch thrown by reliever Austin Voth. Despite being struck on the back leg by an 0-2 pitch that bounced in the dirt, Seager initially remained in the game after receiving attention from the medical staff.

Following the Rangers’ 5-1 win, manager Bruce Bochy expressed concern about Seager’s ability to play in Thursday afternoon’s game. Bochy noted that Seager’s left shin swelled up noticeably after the incident, raising concerns about his ability to take part in any further action on the field.

Seager had already missed a significant portion of spring training due to sports hernia surgery that took place on January 30. The team will be closely monitoring his recovery and making decisions accordingly in the coming days.
