Office for Science and Society Celebrates 25th Anniversary of OSS

Exploring 25 Years of Science and Society at McGill University: An In-Person Experience

As part of the Montreal Gazette’s ongoing coverage of the science and technology scene, journalist Josh Freed recently sat down with Dr. Joe Schwarcz, the Director of McGill University’s Office for Science and Society (OSS), to discuss the OSS’s history and highlights over the past 25 years.

The discussion, which will take place on May 23rd at 7 PM in the Otto Maass Chemistry Building on McGill’s campus, is sure to be both informative and entertaining. The event will begin with a reception at 6:30 PM before moving on to a lively conversation between Freed and Schwarcz that will cover everything from the challenges faced by the OSS over its quarter-century history to some fun demonstrations sprinkled throughout the evening.

One of the key highlights of this special event is that it is limited to in-person attendance only, meaning that virtual viewers won’t be able to tune in. However, those who are able to attend can expect a truly unique experience that they won’t soon forget. So if you have any interest in science or technology, make sure you register for this exciting event today!
