Employment Crisis in Sicily: How a New ‘Employment Superbonus’ and ‘The Work Travels with Us!’ Tour are Tackling the Issue

In Sicily, employment consultants are actively seeking various professional figures, such as commercial employees in the entertainment sector, opticians, orthopedic doctors, physiatrists, experts in wages and contributions, personal assistance workers, family workers, and managers of orders. However, despite the abundance of job offers, 42.7% of jobs remain vacant due to a lack of suitable candidates. This is particularly true in the tourism, services and construction sectors.

To address this issue and encourage hiring of young people, women and individuals over 35 in the South SEZ area, a new “Employment Superbonus” has been introduced. The Truck of the National Foundation for Labor Consultants will be in Piazza Duomo in Messina from 9am to 2pm on Monday. This marks the conclusion of a national route “The work travels with us! A tour for orientation, legality and safety”, which has engaged around 5 thousand secondary school students, university students and job seekers in 18 Italian cities since April 3rd.

During the event in Messina, young people will receive orientation activities from specialized professionals to help them choose study paths aligned with the job market’s needs. Group sessions and workshops will be conducted inside the Truck and various stands focusing on labor market trends leading sectors sought-after professions qualifications workplace safety ethics and employment opportunities policies active in area Sorprendo platform GenL video game ethical work. Key speakers at the event include prominent figures from world work business industry.
