Breaking Down Barriers: Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis with Blood Biomarkers

The Arizona Science Center is excited to launch a new series for adults called “Spotlight on Science.” This series will bring together experts in various fields of science for an evening of discussion and education on topics that have a significant impact on society.

The first event in this new series will focus on “Breakthroughs in Blood Biomarkers-Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis” with Dr. Nicholas Ashton, PH. D, an expert in Alzheimer’s disease.

Taking place at the Science Center located downtown at 600 E. Washington St on Tuesday, May 14 starting at 7 p.m., guests can expect to hear about Ashton’s work as a leader in the development, validation, and application of fluid biomarkers, including cerebrospinal fluid and blood tests, in the battle against Alzheimer’s and related disorders.

Ashton, the Banner Research Biomarker Program senior director, will delve into the possibility of using a blood test to detect Alzheimer’s disease. Ticket options for the event range from a VIP experience for $75 to general admission for $40 and student tickets for $20.
