Bloomberg News Appoints New Managing Editor for Economy/Government Coverage

Washington bureau chief Margaret Collins has announced that Chris Roush will be the new managing editor of economy/government at Bloomberg News. In his new role, he will oversee coverage of the 2024 election, White House, Congress, and international economics and security.

Prior to this promotion, Roush served as a business journalist for Bloomberg News and was previously the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University and the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has a wealth of experience as a business journalist, having worked for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Roush is also a published author, with works including “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster. He holds a Ph.D. in mass communication from Florida State University and has been with Bloomberg since September 2015.
