Canada Wins Fifth Gold in U-18 Men’s World Hockey Championship with Dramatic Comeback Over the United States

In the thrilling under-18 men’s world hockey championship, Canada secured their fifth gold title with a 6-4 victory over the United States. Gavin McKenna led the charge with a hat trick and an assist, helping Canada rally back from an early 3-1 deficit. Cole Beaudoin, Tij Iginla, and Ryder Ritchie also contributed goals in the third period, sealing the win for Canada. Goalie Carter George made 31 saves to secure the victory.

On the other side of the match, Cole Hutson stood out for the U.S., scoring a goal and providing two assists. Christian Humphreys, Cole Eiserman, and Brodie Ziemer also contributed goals of their own. Despite making 19 saves in net, Nicholas Kempf couldn’t stop Canada’s comeback.

In the bronze medal match, Love Harenstam put on a stellar performance for Sweden, stopping all 36 shots from Slovakia to secure a 4-0 victory. Lucas Pettersson broke the scoreless tie early in the third period with goals from Melvin Fernstrom, Alfons Freij, and Victor Eklund solidifying Sweden’s win. Alan Lendak made 25 saves for Slovakia in a losing effort.

With this win, Canada continues to show their dominance in men’s hockey on an international stage.
