UT Health San Antonio to hold a Be Well Texas community wellness fair this Saturday

UT Health San Antonio Hosts Second Annual Community Wellness Fair with State Rep. Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Campos as Featured Guest Speaker

UT Health San Antonio’s Be Well Texas initiative is set to host its second annual community wellness fair in San Antonio. The free-to-attend event will offer a variety of wellness activities, services, and resources to educate and inform the community. State Rep. Elizabeth “Liz” Campos, from District 119, will be the featured guest speaker at the event.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mission County Park 1, located at 6030 Padre Drive in San Antonio, will be the venue for the community wellness fair. The schedule includes a welcome ceremony by Jennifer Sharpe Potter, a guest speech by State Rep. Elizabeth “Liz” Campos, Zumba and HIIT workout sessions, group meditation, and door prizes.

Local community and wellness organizations will provide all-day activities at the event. Pet therapy by Therapy Animals of San Antonio will be available, as well as food distribution by the San Antonio Food Bank and overdose reversal training and naloxone distribution. Hygiene kits will also be distributed at the event. Free medical screenings will be provided by various organizations including substance use screenings by Be Well Texas, wellness health checks by UT Health San Antonio School of Nursing, vision screenings by Lions Sight Research Foundation, HIV and STI testing by Alamo Area Resource Center, and diabetic screenings by District 2-A2 Lions Clubs.
