UK HealthCare’s ‘Be Healthy Bash’ Celebrates Community Well-being Through Nutrition, Fitness and Emotional Wellness
The ‘Be Healthy Bash’ is a unique event that UK HealthCare will be hosting to kick off the summer season. This festival will take place on June 8th at the Fayette County Extension Office in Lexington. The focus of this event is on overall well-being, with a variety of activities and information centered around nutrition, fitness, and emotional wellness.
The ‘Be Healthy Bash’ will feature an array of services such as health screenings, wellness resources, free food, vaccinations, cooking demonstrations, taste testing, emotional wellness activities, physical activities and games. Attendees can also enjoy inflatables for both kids and adults, a petting zoo, safety education, a smoothie bike and a meet and greet with UK’s mascot Wally Cat.
Dr. Kristen Stakelin from the Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center explained that this event was initially created to promote healthy eating habits and physical activity but has now expanded to offer a wide range of health services that go beyond the original vision. She is thrilled about the progress made since its inception.
The ‘Be Healthy Bash’ is a collaborative effort presented by UK HealthCare, University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government and Fayette County Extension Office along with several other partners. Trudi Matthews from UK HealthCare emphasized that this event showcases their commitment to promoting healthy living in the community.
