Cosber Technology’s hydrogen power cubes (HPC) certified by TÜV SÜD

TÜV SÜD Awards Cosber Smart H2 Energy Platform for Innovative Self-Sufficient Energy Solution

Cosber Technology, a leading manufacturer of vehicle testing equipment, has received three certificates from TÜV SÜD for their innovative Smart H2 Energy Platform. The platform offers a comprehensive solution for self-sufficient energy supply using hydrogen for buildings, and it is one of the latest creations from Cosber.

The key components of the platform are the Hydrogen Power Cubes (HPC), which consist of an AEM electrolyser, a hydrogen storage unit, a fuel cell power generation system, a power inverter system, and a heat exchange system. When combined with photovoltaic or wind energy systems, HPCs can meet all the energy needs of buildings using renewable energy and hydrogen.

Dr. Helge Knobbe, Head of Industry Service at TÜV SÜD Korea, highlighted the challenges faced in certifying the HPCs with their many components. The HPCs had to meet regulations such as the Machinery Directive 2023/1230, the Pressure Equipment Directive 2024/68/EU, and the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU for electromagnetic compatibility. After successful testing, TÜV SÜD presented Safety Risk Assessment Reports and certificates for the HPC-1000 Plus and HPC-3000 Plus to Cosber.

Cosber had proactively considered regulatory requirements during the development of the Smart H2 Energy platform and the HPCs, making the certification process smoother and faster. TÜV SÜD has expertise in hydrogen technologies and supports
